When Size Matters
Sometimes size really does matter. When it does Twisted Storage can be scaled from as small as a few terabytes to multiple petabytes.
Even better, the scaling can be done while the system is live, the system need not shut down for storage to be added to servers or for Server Nodes to be added.
Dynamic Scaling into a Hybrid Cloud
A Twisted Storage Enterprise Cloud storage system can scale within its own cluster by adding Server Nodes or by increasing the capacity on existing nodes.
It can also scale dynamically by incorporating an external cloud such as the Amazon S3 public cloud or a third party private cloud. The external cloud is treated as a single storage device, another Server Node within the Twisted Storage cluster.
Policies within Twisted Storage can specify which files or file types are stored onto the external cloud, what encryption is applied, access control policies, retention dates, and all other Twisted Storage file management functions.
Use of the external cloud can also be scaled back down on demand making it an ideal way to accommodate temporary storage requirements.
