An Enterprise Storage Cloud implemented with Twisted Storage delivers astonishing flexibility. It unifies previously isolated storage silos, provides sophisticated file management functions, adds global index and search, and enables policy-driven workflows that make the storage system an integral part of your business processes.
Twisted Storage also allows extending the private Enterprise Storage Cloud by including a third party external cloud such as the Amazon S3 public cloud.
One Cloud - Two Parts
The public storage cloud is treated as just another Storage Node in the Twisted Storage cluster. It just happens to be remotely located and can be activated and scaled on demand to fill short term or special project storage needs.
The Enterprise Twisted Storage system communicates with the external storage cloud in the same way it communicates within itself - by sending SOAP messages over the network. In the case of an external storage cloud that network extends beyond the enterprise and into the external cloud.
Fully Integrated with the Enterprise Cloud
Twisted Storage offers an optional adapter that provides the interface to the external storage cloud including all required operational functions such as: authentication into the external cloud, encryption, external cloud system management, and the ability to access billing information.
