The Problem in the Enterprise
Twisted Storage was founded to solve a simple problem - enterprise storage systems spinning out of control. They were growing rapidly, there was rarely a clear plan in place, and very little active management of the files occurred. Most companies did not know what they had, where it was, how long they ought to keep it, or when they should get rid of it.
More and more files ended up on an ever growing number of servers with an even more rapidly increasing quantity of drives - with each system an isolated storage silo that made sharing files difficult and thus presented an impediment to business processes.

Twisted Storage was developed to meet one overriding goal - to bring order out of the chaos. The first part of the Twisted Storage solution is to federate the storage silos - any combination of legacy and greenfield hardware. The second is to globalize search by providing comprehensive indexing through the federated storage systems. The third is policy-driven workflow.
